After a fun drive down to Pikes Peak International Raceway (PPIR), I arrived early to beat most of the heat of the day, so there was very little line to get through check-in at May’s Slush Motorsports Festival. I followed the other spectators to the dark, wet tunnel under the track, and up and out to the car show in the paddock. Stopped by the Revhard Motors display and bought a t-shirt from Josh, and made my way through the car show, where some owners were still polishing and getting their rides prepped. Near the track, I watched as drivers lined up to head out on the circuit, doing a little racing around the perimeter.

Heading to the infield track, I saw a guy in a gorilla suit, accompanied by his female handler? Not sure, but he made me hot just thinking of walking around in that. The infield track was abuzz with guys and girls having fun doing some hot laps on the curvy and twisty asphalt surface. Later that track was the scene of some seriously smoky drifting action!

So much work goes into planning and organizing one of these huge events, and I wanted to hand over the microphone to the main coordinator and Slush Founder, Phillip Thomas, to get his perspective of car events in Colorado!

From Phillip:
The global craze for motorsports is in high gear, now that restrictions are easing, fans and drivers are actively seeking places to meet. I am delighted to be able to play a prominent role in making this happen. I knew my career path would take me down many winding roads that would involve cars. Cars of all makes and models.
I’ve discovered that each generation is drawn to its own specific cars – some have strong preference for the American muscle and some a preference for JDM. While our fans have expressed to me that there are ardent proponents of the American manufacturing industry – there are other all-time foreign favorites. A few of the ones that have rolled around our tracks are Italian-made. SLUSH Motorsports Festivals aims to please all attendees by serving up a varied selection at each event.

For the 3rd time in 2 years, SLUSH will host a Motorsports Festival at Pikes Peak International Raceway on October 1, 2022. Once again, the event will bring together influencers, drivers, fans, and media – for an action-packed day of exhilarating experiences – both on and off track. This is not your common stock car racing event; it is in a class of its own. Fans enjoy Drag & Roll Racing, Drifting, Circuit Racing, Car show, Burnout pit, 2-step and more. And I’m especially excited to announce that this year, four influencers will be on hand to mix and mingle such as Daily Driven Exotics, TommyFyeah, Dustin Williams, & Motionautotv. Come see us at Slush Motorsports Festival!
SLUSH Motorsports Festival is the Playground for Car enthusiasts, where the community works together instead of against each other. Come see for yourself!
